NYC Wrap-Up November 27, 2011

I didn’t blog every day this month

I did post 25 days in a row which, I believe, is more than I posted in the first 6 months of Fiona’s life!

My participation in National Blog Posting Month did help me get back on the writing-wagon so I will, I am promising myself!, be back more often!

Tonight, I am exhausted!

New York City is fabulous but after parades & eating & drinking & biking & the circus & playgrounds & the park & Chinatown & Little Italy & Vietnamese lunches & pie & euchre & wine & stroller napping I am one tired mama

Here are some highlights of the trip!

Brooklyn

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Dinner and post-dinner (pre-pie) walk in Central Park

Beach Bums November 15, 2011

I refuse to break my NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) streak but my Miami family is gathering for dinner so I’m just going to leave you with some pictures of my kids enjoying the beach!  We’ve been totally bumming on the beach for the past 2 days – and this Gringa Mama is showing the proof on my shoulders while my Cuban children have fantastic tans!

Assuming the “Miss Priss:  Uh, mama, no more pictures please” pose

My little Cuban eating pastelitos on the beach

Miss Fiona refused the stay on the blanket & kept crawling to sit in the sand where she would promptly eat an entire fistful of Key Biscayne

It may having been snowing last week in Philadelphia but yesterday we enjoyed the most beautiful afternoon on a friend’s boat.  My husband, Reny, has the best group of friends here in Miami and “the boys” (which, freakily enough, are simply a Cuban version of Prep boys) headed out fishing early Sunday morning – I think all they caught, however, was a buzz.  We joined them after naps and headed down to Boca Chica Key.

Oh – and saw dolphins!  Lots of dolphins!

Abuela Maria Teresa (Reny’s dad’s mami) turns 90 years old today

Last night we surprised her!  And celebrated!  And danced!  And laughed!  And drank wine!  And danced!

2 children, 6 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren – what a legacy
