Unless you’ve been living under a rock (or in Ripley, NY sans TV) you were probably, like the rest of us, glued to The Weather Channel last weekend as Irene made her slow and destructive march up the Eastern coast. And, in true 24-hour news channel fashion, it had us here in Philly frantically calling relatives to stay with “just in case,” running to the grocery store for water, canned foods, batteries & wine, pulling out candles (even though it wasn’t an anniversary), and wondering “do I really want to climb up and tape those windows?”
And, while the lady didn’t move north without leaving her mark, we here in downtown Philadelphia were, gratefully, spared the worst of her wrath.
We were, however, graced with so much rain that puddle jumping was inevitable.
And we LOVE puddle jumping!

Thanks! It makes me a little bit giddy when you comment on my blog – I have been following yours forever!
This might be the best irene inspired post I have seen! What awesome pictures of your kiddos!
Ren is SO cute! I love the boots! I’m so glad you guys weren’t his hard. And, that you were ready with wine. Definitely a necessity up there with water and food! ๐
So glad you all made it through okay. I love Philly! Great city! Your boy looks like he had a blast!!
The one of him jumping in the puddle is great
Glad you all managed to stay dry!
Here on the other side of the world we get typhoons. A few big ones have blow by us – I totally understand the anxious pre-storm preparations.
I love puddle jumping!
